The Adam Brown Tennis Academy in Scotland remains on the look out for tennis stars of the future as it continues to promote the game to players of all ages.
Housing venues in Stirling, Gleneagles and Bridge of Allan, the academy is one of the biggest of its kind throughout the UK with sessions at a variety of levels from beginner to competitive players being offered to all ages, three and up all year round.
Aided by funding from Tennis Scotland, the academy with the help of its indoor facilities, allowing for play even on the dark, rainy nights of a Scottish winter, regularly caters to around 200 players each week including adult sessions for both those taking up the sport later in life to those competing in local club leagues.
For the largely competitive teenage students, however, they dream of super-stardom, with many having already been fortunate enough to have met and trained alongside Scottish superstars such as Andy and Jamie Murray.
Speaking on these special moment academy coach Lucy MacKechnie commented:
“Role models are important and the children in the Central Region are lucky that they have Andy Murray and also Jamie Murray, Colin Fleming and Gordon Reid. A lot of local players have had the opportunity to see these players close up. Many have participated in sessions these top players have taken and there is no doubt they have been inspired by them.
“It would be great to see another player being successful for the next generation.”
As the academy seeks for continued growth it offers a number of sessions in connection with local primary and secondary schools as well as Parent/Child sessions to encourage further participation.
